World Book Day

Dear Families

We are very excited to be celebrating World Book Day next Thursday and have a fantastic day planned for the children!

Further to my newsletter at the end of half term, children have the option to:

  • Dress up as their favourite book character or in book-themed costume for £1

  • Wear non-uniform for £1 if they would prefer not to dress up

  • Or choose not to dress up at all

Our Reading Ambassadors have also organised an exciting Design a Book-Themed Potato competition! Children can enter for £1. They have been sent home with a design sheet to help them plan their ideas. All they need to take part is a potato and £1 to enter. Potatoes should arrive at school on World Book Day - if the weather is dry we are hoping to display these on the playground for you all to enjoy! Prizes will be awarded by the Reading Ambassadors.

The ambassadors have planned a brilliant day including reading buddy time, competitions, book swaps, footy & booky quizzes and lots, lots more. We can’t wait to use World Book Day as an excuse to spend even more time celebrating our love of books and reading!

If you have any questions, please speak to your child’s class teacher.

Thank you for your continued support.

Best wishes

Mrs Wolfe & The Reading Ambassadors
