Welcome to Burton Leonard Primary School

Dear parents, carers and friends of Burton Leonard CE Primary School,

A warm welcome to Burton Leonard Church of England Primary School. Our children thrive and develop their independence and confidence in a busy and enthusiastic learning environment, where there is always much to do, see and learn. We hope that you will find this website useful and informative. You will get a good impression of the school's life and ethos and hope you will take a full and supportive interest in the life of our school.  We believe that children flourish and enjoy school where there is a positive partnership between home and school.

Our whole school community abides by our core Christian values of: respect, kindness, compassion combined with rich learning experiences, an ethos of always doing our best and being safe, which help to make our school a happy and harmonious place to learn and work.

Our overall school aim is: ‘To give our children every opportunity and encouragement to develop educationally and socially to their fullest potential, by making sure that every child is valued as a worthwhile individual in a caring, happy, secure and stimulating environment.’

We are a welcoming, happy school where people are helpful, considerate and respectful of each other. Relationships and attitudes are positive and an environment exists in which working and learning becomes an enjoyable and fulfilling experience for all. I feel privileged to be the headteacher of a school which is truly unique and which has such a strong involvement with its community.

At Burton Leonard Primary School we welcome parents as partners so that, together, we can promote high standards of learning, behaviour and attitudes to enable every child to be the best that they can be. We also welcome your involvement in all aspects of school life and have an active PTA group – Friends of Burton Leonard (FoBLS) who will help and encourage you to do this.

Thank you for your interest in our school and I hope that our website provides you with a flavour of what our school has to offer you and your child. You are welcome to come and visit us to find out more by having a tour of our small yet interesting buildings and by talking to our staff and children. Appointments can be made through the school office.

I look forward to meeting you in the near future and look forward to a happy and successful relationship with you over the coming years.

With kind regards

Mr Stuart Milner
Headteacher
